Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SEO copywriter to join our team on a three-month contract. As a Contract Web Copywriter for Certus, you will work with our Product Marketing, SEO, and Design teams to plan, conceptualize and write SEO-optimized articles and marketing content for various online brands.
Your writing will drive eCommerce results in support of our company’s goals and will be iterated and improved upon via regular SEO testing. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional writing skills, a strong understanding of SEO best practices and the ability to maintain a clear and consistent brand voice.
Please note that this is a contract position for three (3) months with the possibility of an extension. It is expected to work 40 hours a week ad is fully remote. The hourly rate is $40 - $45/hour.
Responsibilities:
- Write compelling marketing copy for websites and other digital marketing mediums, including SEO-optimized articles, blogs, product descriptions, FAQs and landing pages
- Follow detailed SEO briefs and optimize your content to rank for target keywords
- Revise and edit your copy as needed, incorporating feedback from the editor and SEO team
- Adapt your writing style to appeal to target audiences across multiple industries and topics
- Write compelling marketing copy that motivates course sales
- Maintain a clear and consistent brand voice, adhering to AP Style and brand-specific style guides
Job requirements
Competencies Required:
- Digital copywriting experience (and online portfolio to share)
- 3+ years’ experience in a copywriter role, preferably in eCommerce
- Ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately
- A basic understanding of content marketing strategy and website UX best practices
- Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, keyword research, and on-page optimization techniques
- Experience using AI tools for SEO optimization
- Ability to research, self-edit and write engaging copy
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated and well-organized
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, English or Journalism
- Experience developing eCommerce content for regulated industries
- Experience conducting keyword research and SEO-focused content updates
- Experience in eLearning industry
Performance Expectations:
- Write clear, concise and accurate marketing copy about complex regulatory topics
- Follow SEO best practices to develop search-optimized marketing content
- Collaborate with our in-house SEO team to ensure your drafts satisfy project requirements
- Maintain a consistent brand voice that is catered to the target audience
- Self-edit to ensure your copy is free from inaccuracies and errors
- Conduct in-depth research and develop high-quality content that aligns with marketing strategies and goals
