Job Overview:

The User Experience Product Owner role combines excellence in UI/UX design with the strategic software solutioning of a SaaS Product Owner. As an experience-driven Product Owner you will have a significant influence over User Experience and Interface Design within Certus’ SaaS products and features. The User Experience Product Owner will collaborate effectively within the Technology department, as well as with stakeholders throughout the Certus organization, to understand user problems and define their SaaS solutions. The User Experience PO will be focused on designing exceptional user experience workflows, defining styles, and assisting other Product Owners in aligning to those standards.


The User Experience PO’s objective will be to solve user pain points through feature enhancements and optimized user journeys.

  • Identify user pain points by performing competitive analysis, assessing user interactions, analyzing metrics, and understanding customer needs

  • Optimize user workflows and interactions through prototypes and wireframes.

  • Define new features which solve various user needs within the application(s).

  • Write technical requirements with clearly defined user stories, technical specifications, user acceptance criteria, and business value for software development

  • Own SaaS features throughout their development lifecycle from inception to delivery

  • Create and maintain a product backlog

  • Continuously monitor and communicate project health and status to stakeholders and clients

  • Manage releases; communicate release plans, create end-user documentation, and facilitate demos.



Job requirements

Requirements:
This position is ideally suited for a candidate who is currently acting as a Product Owner or Product Manager with previous experience as a UI/UX Designer within a software organization.

  • 5+ years of UI/UX design experience, including a robust portfolio of web and mobile projects.

  • 3+ years of Product Management experience (Product Manager, Product Owner, or equivalent)

  • SaaS experience with B2C or B2B solutions, ideally both

  • Agile software development experience

  • Keen understanding of customer needs and user experience

  • Expertise in design applications, XD, Sketch, and/or Figma

  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and front-end development concepts.

  • Experience leveraging component libraries, like Material Design or Bootstrap

  • Expertise with product management software such as Jira, Microsoft DevOps, Confluence, Xtensio, Monday.com

  • Excellent procedural and organizational skills, including the ability to create story maps, user stories and acceptance criteria, project specs, user documentation, and roadmap plans.

  • Proven ability to work in collaborative environments across multiple teams

  • Effective skills in written and verbal communication


Performance Expectations:

  • Analyze customer and business needs to establish minimum viable solutions for SaaS product development

  • Ensure on-time deliveries by managing products through the Software Development Lifecycle

  • Identify and communicate blockers to organizational goals and engineering efforts
