Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Revenue Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards, maintaining proper documentation, and supporting the month-end and quarter-end close processes. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with company policies and external regulations, including ASC 606 or other revenue-related guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day revenue accounting activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
Analyze customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606.
Track and reconcile deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and related revenue accounts.
Collaborate with sales, billing, and legal teams to understand contract terms and ensure correct revenue treatment.
Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely and accurate revenue-related entries and reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries related to revenue.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to revenue processes, systems, and controls.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Job requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or progress toward CPA designation preferred.
2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a revenue accounting or audit role.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
This position is fully remote, and base pay will be between $80,000 - $85,000/year and will be eligible for up to a 5% annual bonus.
