Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Copywriter to join our Marketing team. As a Senior Copywriter for Certus, you will work with our Product Marketing, SEO, and Design teams to plan, conceptualize, write, and edit SEO-optimized content for various online brands.
Your writing will drive eCommerce results in support of our company’s goals and will be iterated and improved upon via regular SEO testing. The ideal candidate has an extensive background in SEO copywriting, a strong command of SEO best practices, proven substantive editing skills and the ability to maintain a clear and consistent brand voice.
Responsibilities:
· Write compelling marketing copy for websites and other digital marketing mediums, including SEO-optimized articles, blogs, product descriptions, FAQs and landing pages
· Review and edit AI-generated copy for accuracy, readability, marketing effectiveness and brand style/tone
· Collaborate with the SEO team and Content team leads to refine and optimize copy
· Adapt your writing style to appeal to target audiences across multiple industries and topics
· Create persuasive marketing copy that motivates course and product sales
· Maintain a clear and consistent brand voice, adhering to AP Style and brand-specific style guides
Job requirements
Competencies Required:
· Digital writing and editing experience (and online portfolio to share)
· 5+ years’ experience in copywriting, preferably in eCommerce
· Ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately
· A basic understanding of content marketing strategy and website UX best practices
· Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, keyword research, and on-page optimization techniques
· Ability to research, write, and edit engaging copy
· Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills
· Self-motivated and well-organized
Preferred:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, English or Journalism
· Experience writing and editing eCommerce content for regulated industries
· Experience humanizing and editing AI-generated copy to align with brand standards
· Experience in eLearning industry
Performance Expectations:
· Produce clear, concise and accurate marketing copy on complex regulatory topics
· Evaluate and refine AI-generated drafts for factual accuracy, clarity, and brand style/tone
· Follow SEO best practices to develop search-optimized marketing content
· Collaborate with our in-house SEO team to ensure your drafts satisfy project requirements
· Maintain a consistent brand voice that caters to the target audience
· Conduct in-depth research and develop high-quality content that aligns with marketing strategies and goals
