Job Overview:

As a Copywriter for Certus, you will work directly with our Product Marketing, Design and Digital Marketing teams to plan, conceptualize and write SEO-optimized content for a variety of online brands and supporting marketing media.

Your writing will drive eCommerce results in support of our company’s goals and will be iterated and improved upon via regular testing. The ideal candidate possesses a high level of creativity, exceptional writing and editing skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Write compelling marketing copy for websites and other digital marketing mediums, including product pages, landing pages, articles, guides, emails, FAQs and infographics
  • Drive sales for online courses designed for a variety of regulated industries
  • Serve as team lead for food and beverage industry content, developing marketing copy and strategies that promote our food and alcohol training courses
  • Perform original keyword research and follow SEO guidelines and best practices
  • Adapt your writing style to appeal to target audiences across multiple industries
  • Generate content ideas and compelling marketing copy that motivates course sales
  • Maintain a clear and consistent brand voice, adhering to AP Style and brand-specific style guides
  • Collaborate with designers and developers in creating wireframes and page components

Job requirements

Competencies Required:

  • Digital copywriting experience (and online portfolio to share)
  • 3+ years’ experience in a copywriter role, preferably in eCommerce
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately
  • A basic understanding of content marketing strategy and website UX best practices
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and writing SEO-optimized content
  • Experience working with web designers and graphic artists to optimize navigation, impact and eCommerce
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to research, self-edit and write creatively
  • Passion for writing with high attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to different writing styles
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated and well-organized

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, English or Journalism
  • Experience developing eCommerce content for regulated industries
  • Ability to leverage marketing data to identify areas for content optimization
  • Experience conducting keyword research and SEO-focused content updates
  • Experience in eLearning industry
